I have a Mecer Model ME-2000-VU+ UPS. Why does the ViewPower software Ver. 2.13 not show the UPS Rated VA and Rated Output Current in Amps on the Monitored UPS Information screen (USB ID=ED)?

It's possible the application doesn't have full support for this UPS, unless the proper drivers are installed. I recommend checking the official website where you can download the drivers for the product. Once you installed the drivers, re-install the software and check the values. If after this process, still doesn't work, then the application doesn't fully support the UPS.

As soon as I install ViewPower (2.12 or 2.13) I get the BOSD with error IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE (within minutes). The problem goes away immediately after uninstalling. I first tried with 2.12 which came with my UPS and then 2.13 in the hope of resolving above, but neither works.

There have been reports that this error is usually caused by the BitDefender's installation. Besides that, the RAM can also be corrupted which means that you should remove one piece from the motherboard and then watch the behavior. Secondly, re-install the application using Administrator rights. If you still encounter issues, run Windows Update and then apply all the available updates. After this procedure, install ViewPower and it should work.

I added '/ViewPower/ViewPower &' to my /etc/rc.d/rc.local file, two years ago. Recently it stopped working. I added " >> /var/log/ViewPower.log 2>&1 " and discovered this java error:

Can you tell me how to get ViewPower to work again?

As I can see from the error, the application attempts to start in GUI mode. You can ignore this issue if you have no problems running it as this might be a check when it starts. While you are at the command prompt, try running the software with --help option, then check the rc.local file and make sure you're using the right options to run it in command mode only.
